Use a legitimate source for the update
Check current official IRS refund information through a confirmed channel, with the return records needed for that process available privately. Record the source and date of the update in your own file. Avoid using an unfamiliar message or link as proof that a particular payment is ready or that personal details must be supplied.
Save the wording rather than a prediction
A status entry is evidence of what was shown at that time. Keep it separate from your expectation of when funds may arrive. If further review or another issue is mentioned, preserve the relevant communication and identify the question it raises. General processing information cannot promise the timing of an individual account.
Connect follow-up to the current instruction
If the official process directs another action, keep that instruction with its supporting record. Bring the tax period, filed return information, and specific unresolved question to any discussion about help. Ask what can be clarified from the available evidence and what still requires an official response. A readable status log improves follow-up without claiming that a delay has ended or a refund has been approved.
